Rick and Jeanette Monte

Rick and Jeanette are the owners of Nizhonii Jewelry in Albuquerque, New Mexico. They work as a team to design and hand-craft unique jewelry, in a mix of traditional and contemporary styles. They are self-taught, and they learn from each other what works and what doesn’t work. They acknowledge that sometimes a piece in progress is not going to be satisfying, so they start over in a different direction. They work on silver, gold, and copper, and use natural stones acquired at gem and mineral shows and from individual stone suppliers.
