Meet Our 2022 Interns

Every year, we have the honor of welcoming a number of interns to our Museum team. For most, the Museum is a stop along the way to grander goals and dreams—a valuable testing-ground for skills and projects. Regardless, each staff member leaves their mark, and we are delighted to have been that testing-ground for them.

Misty Wood

Facilities intern

Misty joined the Museum this summer as part of her studies for Parks and Recreation Management at Northern Arizona University and has since graduated with honors with her Bachelor’s degree. She is a U.S. Navy veteran of 14 years. Originally from California, she has resided in Prescott for 11 years. While at the Museum, Misty’s final project was to develop a master signage plan for the Museum that would enhance visitor flow and increase safety awareness.

Maria Grant

Library & Archives intern

Maria is about to graduate with an M.A. in Library and Information Science from the University of Arizona with a concentration in Archives and Special Collections, as well as a Certificate in Archival Studies. During her studies, she did an archival internship at the Aviation Safety and Security Archives at Embry-Riddle University in Prescott. She currently lives in Prescott with her daughter, and works part-time as a Youth Service Librarian at Prescott Public Library. She is excited about the internship at the Sharlot Hall Museum’s Research Center (Library & Archives) as an opportunity to put her studies into deeper practice. Maria is originally from Sweden but has lived in the United States for twenty years, during which she got her B.A. in philosophy, worked in independent bookstores, built a tiny house and taught yoga. When she is not studying or working, she likes to read, paint, exercise, hike, and spend time in nature.
