Lecture: An Arizona Auto Adventure

April 23 at 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Free

On August 29, 1913, chemist Clarence N. Boynton and his friend and soon-to-be-business partner William Warner Watkins, along with their wives and the Watkins’ nine-month-old daughter, set out on a driving trip. Squeezed into Dr. Watkins’ new 1913 Studebaker touring car, the trip was planned to cover approximately 1,000 miles in central Arizona. It was “no country for an auto”!
